Hi there! There are so many amazing treats and butterbeer snacks at Universal Studios, Harry Potter World. Walking around the park and sampling all of the snacks is such a fun way to spend the day!

In this guide you will find all of the best, and worst, treats in Universal Studios Harry Potter World. Although there are many delicious snacks, there are definitely some you’ll want to skip and save your money!

Let’s get right into the best treats and butterbeer snacks at Universal Studios Harry Potter World!

The Best Treats and Butterbeer Snacks at Universal Studios

Butterbeer Ice Cream ($5.99)

The soft serve butterbeer ice cream from Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour is my absolute favorite treat at Universal Studios Harry Potter World.

The butterbeer flavor is so nice without being overpowering, and it is the perfect treat on a warm afternoon.

Cold Butterbeer ($7.99)

When visiting Harry Potter World, trying butterbeer is an absolute must. You can get butterbeer in multiple locations in both Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, and it comes cold, frozen or hot.

I recommend the cold butterbeer, it tastes a lot like cream soda and is very good! Personally I did find it to be a little too sweet, but that’s probably because I don’t usually drink soda.

Otter’s Fizzy Orange Juice ($5.49)

Head over to the Hopping Pot in Diagon Alley for this delicious drink. Fizzy Orange Juice essentially tastes like sparkling orange juice, with a cinnamon sugar rim.

It’s light and refreshing and definitely worth trying.

Tongue Tying Lemon Squash ($5.49)

Another delicious drink from The Hopping Pot! It’s basically lemonade, but very, very good lemonade.

Firewhiskey ($11.00)

Firewhiskey is pretty similar to Fireball. You can drink it on its own or add it into any beverage, such as Fizzy Orange Juice or Pumpkin Juice.

Jacket Potato ($9.79)

The London Taxi Hut, right outside of Diagon Alley, serves up great baked potatoes with toppings!

If you’re a vegetarian, this is a great stop, as there aren’t a ton of veggie options in Harry Potter World. The broccoli and cheddar potato is so good and very filling.

Bangers and Mash ($14.49)

Served at the Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley, Bangers and Mash are a great option for anyone who likes sausage and potatoes.

This is a great, filling lunch or dinner option for a day of exploring the park.

Mediocre Snacks and Treats at Universal Studios:

Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans ($10.95)

These are really good jelly beans, and most of them have nice flavors like green apple, blueberry, bubble gum or orange.

However, occasionally you’ll also get a really bad flavor – like boogers, ham or ear wax.

This is all part of the fun, of course, but getting a bad flavor is really unpleasant!
You can find Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans at Sugarplum’s Sweet Shop in Diagon Alley and Honeydukes in Hogsmeade.

Skiving Snackboxes ($39.95)

You’ll find these fun (and huge!) snackboxes in Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes in Diagon Alley. Inside the box you’ll find four of the most popular wizarding treats sold by Fred and George Weasley: Fever Fudge, Puking Pastilles, Fainting Fancies and Nosebleed Nougat.

All of these treats are fun to try in Harry Potter World – although they’re not necessarily candies I’d eat more than once.

  • Fever Fudge: blue-vanilla fudge with red cinnamon jelly beans
  • Puking Pastilles: large green and purple hard candies
  • Fainting Fancies: large orange and lemon flavored gummy candies coated in sugar
  • Nosebleed Nougat: milk chocolate covered mashmallow-y candy

Gilly Water ($5.50) +  Elixirs ($3.99)

In Diagon Alley you’ll be able to purchase Gilly Water with Elixirs from a cute cart.

Gilly Water on its own is just plain bottled water, but you have the option to add in Elixirs (colors and flavors.) I was really excited to try them, but then I was told that the Elixirs are almost entirely sugar.

I don’t really like sweetened water, so I decided against the Elixirs. If you like sweet drinks though, you may enjoy it!

Gilly Water Elixir Flavors:

  • Babbling Beverage (fruit punch)
  • Fire Protection Potion (watermelon/peach/strawberry)
  • Elixir to Induce Euphoria (pineapple/green apple/mint)
  • Draught of Peace (blueberry/blackberry/raspberry/cherry)

The Worst Treats at Harry Potter World:

Pumpkin Pasties

I was so excited for the pumpkin pasties because I love both pumpkin and pastries. It sounded like the perfect combination.

Sadly, the pumpkin pasty tasted super undercooked, and it was so, so bland. There also wasn’t enough filling so it was like eating plain, undercooked pastry dough.

You can find Pumpkin Pasties at Sugarplum’s Sweet Shop in Diagon Alley and Honeydukes in Hogsmeade.

Pumpkin Juice ($5.49)

I was so excited for the pumpkin juice, but unfortunately it just wasn’t that good. It was really thick, not quite cold enough, and tasted like watered down pumpkin pie filling.

If you really love pumpkin pie, maybe you’ll like this, but I do not recommend it.

Butterbeer Fudge ($3.95)

I was really looking forward to this fudge, but unfortunately, it was not very good. It didn’t taste like butterbeer at all, but instead just tasted like stale white chocolate. The texture was also too hard and crumbly.

Skip this, and if you’re in the mood for a butterbeer treat, get the butterbeer ice cream.

Pumpkin Cake

Again, I was so excited for this because I love pumpkin desserts. However, the cake was super dry and the orange flavored icing was artificial and unpleasant.

Chocolate Frog ($10.95)

The chocolate frog is SO big and is solid, milk chocolate. It’s a little expensive at $10.95, but you’re definitely getting a lot of chocolate.

That being said, the chocolate is not high quality, and I only wanted a bite or two of the frog. Although the chocolate frog is popular and iconic, there are much better treats in Harry Potter World.
