Hello all! In January of 2021 I spent the weekend in Newport, RI and stayed at The Wayfinder Hotel. I originally decided to stay at The Wayfinder because I thought it was super cute, and I loved their aesthetic Instagram. Is choosing a hotel based on how cute their Instagram is a good move? Maybe not always, but in this case it worked out perfectly! Keep reading for my complete review of The Wayfinder Hotel in Newport, Rhode Island.

Location

The Wayfinder Hotel is located about 5-10 minutes driving from downtown Newport. While it isn’t walkable to the downtown area, there is plenty of parking on site, and the drive into town is really easy. Especially in the winter when there’s ample parking in Newport center, being outside of the main downtown area was no problem.

Rooms

Like the rest of the hotel, the rooms at The Wayfinder are beautifully decorated. Our room had two queen beds and a cute table and chair. Side note: I do wish there would have been two chairs, as we ended up eating a lot of take-out (due to Covid), and it was a little tricky with two people and just one chair.

The rooms were clean and bright and overall we were very happy! I also loved the bathroom decor, and that the hotel uses local soaps, lotions and shampoos in refillable glass bottles!

As of June 2021 a standard room is under $200 a night.

Amenities

The Wayfinder has a large lobby area where you can relax and use communal work spaces. The furniture is so cute, and I love all of the little sitting nooks.

In the summer the hotel also has an outdoor pool, and there is a large function room on the second floor that is perfect for parties.

Dining

We were super excited to eat at Nomi Park, The Wayfinder’s on site restaurant. All of the menus looked so good, but we ultimately decided to go for brunch. The shakshuka was delicious, and I highly recommend trying it! Additionally, the prices are very reasonable for a hotel restaurant.

Overall

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at The Wayfinder! It was everything we hoped it would be and is really the perfect place to stay while visiting Newport, Rhode Island. We will definitely be going back! Click here to view room rates and to make a reservation!

  1. This is a great review of this hotel. A lot of articles focus on the big hotels in Newport (Marriott, Hotel Viking ect) which are all great but nice to see some of the independents get some love.
