Welcome to my review of the beautiful Bluff Dwellings Resort in the small town of Bluff, Utah.

This resort is really such a hidden gem, nestled into a small Utah desert town!

While there isn’t much to do in the town of Bluff, the surrounding areas are filled with beautiful hikes, National Parks, and the even the famous Four Corners monument!

Sounds peaceful and relaxing, right?

Bluff Dwellings Resort is placed within an idyllic setting, and the resort is truly the perfect place to relax and connect with nature. It is also a wonderful place for families, as there is a ton to do for kids as well!

Keep reading for my full review of the Bluff Dwellings Resort in Bluff, Utah.

Location – the Town of Bluff

Bluff is located about 4.5 hours from Zion National Park, 5 hours from Santa Fe, 5.5 hours from Salt Lake City and 2 hours from Durango, Colorado.

The town of Bluff, Utah is super tiny – like somewhere between 90 and 300 people tiny.

However, it does have (at least) three restaurants – and I especially recommend Comb Ridge Eat and Drink. We had dinner at Comb Ridge, and the food was fresh and really good!

We stopped in Bluff as a halfway point between Zion National Park and Santa Fe. However, it could definitely be a destination itself – especially if you’re looking for somewhere to relax and connect with nature far away from bustling towns and cities.

That being said, in Bluff you will definitely not find a busy town filled with shops, cafes and entertainment. For that, you will need to drive quite far to the surrounding areas.

Time Zone in Bluff, Utah

Okay, so one thing that was really interesting about Bluff is the time zone.

My phone never adjusted to the “correct” time, and was one hour behind for the entirety of our stay. Similarly, when I asked other people what time it was, their answers usually varied by an hour, depending on if their phone had adjusted to Bluff time, or if it was connecting to the time on the nearby Native American Reservation.

When I asked about this at the hotel, they explained that sometimes phones will show the Reservation time, and not connect to the Bluff time.

This isn’t a huge deal, unless you have a dinner reservation or are setting an alarm. So be sure to always check the time on the clocks at the hotel, and don’t rely on your phone!

Bluff Dwellings Resort + Rooms

Bluff Dwellings Resort is a fantastic hotel option. It’s not only beautiful, and blends right in the with the surrounding mountains, but it’s also clean and comfortable.

The hotel is made up of three buildings, each containing 15 hotel rooms. The rooms are spacious, there’s ample parking, and there are lovely outdoor spaces where you can read a book, climb the rocks, and relax with great views. The wifi is also free and fast!

We were able to book a room with three queen beds, which was absolutely perfect as I was traveling with my mom and aunt. I’ve never seen a three bed option in a hotel in the United States, so I was pleasantly surprised.

Our room was very large, and also had desk where I could get some work done. We had a view of the outdoor patio, like all the rooms in our building – but we did need to keep the curtains closed at night, as we were on the first floor and people were always walking by and could see right in. This wasn’t an issue, just something to be aware of.

The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean and modern, and I would definitely return to this hotel!

Amenities at the Resort

As mentioned, although there isn’t much to do in the town of Bluff itself, there is plenty to do at the Bluff Dwellings Resort!

Bluff Dwellings Resort Amenities:

Semi-private and communal patios: Many rooms have semi-private patios, and they are the perfect place to sit and read a book while looking out at the mountains. In addition to the small semi-private patios, there are also communal patios with nighttime campfires where travelers can connect with one another!

Pool + Hot Tub: Bluff Dwellings also has a pool (very kid friendly!) and a hot tub where families can relax and hangout. The views from the hot tub, specifically, are absolutely incredible, and it is so relaxing to sit in the hot tub and take in the views.

Spa: Connected to the pool area you’ll find a spa, where you can book a variety of treatments, including massages, facials, and manicures. On my trip I did not book a spa treatment, but I will definitely make time for one on my next visit to the resort.

Cedar Shack Cafe: While there aren’t a ton of restaurant choices around Bluff, there are food options right at the resort! At the Cedar Shack Cafe you can get coffee and breakfast items starting around 7:30am, and for lunch and dinner there are a variety of sandwiches, salads, pizzas and kid friendly foods like quesadillas and cheese bread! The prices are super reasonable, especially considering there aren’t many other places to choose from. Having the Cedar Shack right on the property is definitely a fantastic added bonus!

The Cedar Shack is super casual and only has outdoor seating, but you can always take your food back to your room.

Free Parking: Of course, there is also free parking!

Nightly Rates at Bluff Dwellings Resort

During the summer, nightly rates vary from about $210 to $300 depending on room size (some fit up to seven people!)

During the winter months, prices drop to as low as $149 per night. For current rates, and to book, click here! These rates, in my opinion, are very reasonable – the hotel truly makes a great getaway and road trip stop.

Overall Review of Bluff Dwellings Resort

Overall, I highly recommend staying at Bluff Dwellings Resort – even if you have to drive a little out of your way to get there!

It is the perfect destination for those looking to relax and spend time in nature. There are no crowds, and the setting is very peaceful. You have everything you need for a wonderful stay right at the resort, and it is really the perfect spot.

The resort makes a great place for groups of friends, families, and even couples looking for a getaway!
