Hello again! In this post I will be sharing my packing guide for 5 days in New Orleans. I visited New Orleans in the Spring, but I brought many layering pieces, making this packing guide useful for most times of year. New Orleans is known for being very humid, and during my visit temperatures ranged from 55-85 degrees. Keep reading for my packing guide – everything I packed fits into a small carry-on!

I visited New Orleans, Louisiana as part of my 50 state challenge! Click here to read more about the challenge, and here to follow along on Instagram!

Overview:

  • 4 spring/summer dresses
  • 3 tops
  • 1 lightweight jacket
  • 2 sweaters
  • 1 pair of shorts
  • 1 pair of jeans
  • 4 skirts
  • 1 pair of sneakers

I definitely brought more clothes than I needed for five days, but since everything fit into a small carry-on (with room to spare) I figured it wouldn’t hurt to bring options!

Dresses

I love wearing dresses! On this trip I brought 4 of my favorites that are cute and comfortable.

Tops

Skirts paired with crop tops are another one of my favorite outfits! I brought three shirts, one of them being long sleeve for colder days. I also bought two sweaters to layer!

Jacket

Even though the Spring days are warm, the nights can get chilly. I brought one lightweight jacket to wear on the plane, and on cooler evenings.

Bottoms

I always bring a pair of jeans to travel in, but as long as the weather is nice, I prefer to wear skirts. On this trip I brought four of my favorites, in neutral colors, that match my favorite tops. I also brought one pair of shorts, in case I wanted to go for a cute and comfy look.

Shoes

One of best space-saving hacks when packing is to limit the amount of shoes I bring. Since New Orleans is pretty casual, I only brought my Nike Air Force 1s. They match everything, and I wore them on the plane so I didn’t lose room in my suitcase!

Thanks so much for reading my packing guide for 5 days in New Orleans! If you found this post helpful, please save and share with others! Happy traveling!
