Forma Pasta Factory Review

Concept

Although Forma has “pasta factory” in its name, it’s far more than simply a pasta shop.

Forma is a fast-casual style restaurant, where you order at the counter and sit anywhere you like – your delicious, handmade pasta will be prepared and delivered to your table within minutes.

While you’re waiting to order you will see all of the fresh pasta dishes being prepared in the open concept kitchen. This is something that I love about Forma; the pasta is so fresh that it’s made and cooked right in front of you and then immediately delivered to your table.

No questioning the freshness of ingredients here, you can literally see the chefs making the pasta and preparing each dish.

Food at Forma Pasta Factory

Forma’s pasta is delicious – obviously, or I wouldn’t be writing this post. However, in addition to being super yummy it is also very affordable. Eating out in NYC is, in general, pretty expensive – so Forma is a fantastic option when you want a delicious restaurant meal without spending tons of money.

There are six pasta dishes on Forma’s menu, all priced at $12. Additionally, there is always a daily special for $16.

Forma is also great for vegetarians (like me!), and they also offer gluten free pasta!

If you’re not a pasta lover (is this even possible?) they have yummy salads and side dishes that also make for a great meal. My favorite sides, if I had to pick, would definitely be the cauliflower and the arancini. Be on the lookout for their seasonal specials as well!

If you’re like me and could eat pasta for every meal, there is also the option to enjoy Forma’s pasta at home! You can purchase their homemade pasta from their in-restaurant market. It’s perfect for those nights when you want delicious pasta but can’t make it out to dinner.

Decor at Forma

In addition to the delicious food, I love Forma’s decor.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated with exposed brick and tons of hanging plants that give the restaurant a cozy, welcoming and homey feel. There are both high-top and traditional tables for guests, and even though the restaurant is usually very busy I’ve always been able to easily find seating – even with larger groups.

Forma is a versatile restaurant, and it the perfect place for a date night, a family dinner or to visit with a group of friends. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming the restaurant is always a reliable spot for lunch and dinner.

My Favorites at Forma – What to Order!

My absolute favorite pasta at Forma is the fettuccine funghi and I get it almost every time I visit. Paired with some yummy lemon roasted cauliflower or arancini to share, it really is the perfect meal.

I have a huge sweet tooth, and lucky for me Forma also offers a dessert selection! I highly recommend trying the budino – chocolate pudding with salted caramel.

Definitely ask the employees for their favorite dishes as well. They are all so welcoming and friendly and this makes the experience even better.

Recycling

Finally, one of my favorite non-food related aspects of Forma is that they make recycling a priority. This is extremely important to me, as I have found that a lot of restaurants in NYC don’t recycle at all.

In Conclusion

When visiting Forma you can be certain that you’ll get fresh, delicious, affordable food! It is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in NYC and I cannot recommend it enough.

Follow Forma on Instagram (@formapasta) and check out their 5-star Yelp reviews here. Finally, Forma also delivers through Door Dash – so definitely check them out nest time you’re ordering in.

Lastly, please share this post with someone you know who would love a dinner at Forma!
