Hi everyone! Early this fall I had the opportunity to work with Oli Streitz, an amazing NYC photographer. Our photoshoot day was so fun, and I highly, highly recommend Oli as a photographer. If you’re ever in NYC, definitely hire him to take your photos. Oli and I took photos all around the NYU area, mostly in Greenwich Village and Soho. In this post I will be sharing the photos we took, and I’ll also be recommending what I think are some of the best photo locations in Greenwich Village, NYC!

Greenwich Village, and the surrounding areas, are so beautiful – definitely perfect for both photos and exploring!

1: Washington Square Park

Washington Square Park is a great place to start your shoot! The arch is super pretty, and definitely gives me Paris vibes.

2: NYU Campus

As part of my graduate program I studied at NYU for a semester, and although it’s right in the middle of a city, I always thought the campus was quite pretty! I love the brick buildings, and I think they make a great photo spot. Additionally, there’s usually not a ton of traffic in this area, so you can get some good street shots.

3: Minetta Triangle

This teeny tiny park, located where Bleecker Street meets Minetta Street, is a great place for nature photos! This park is also a great place for an outfit change since it’s small and pretty private. Tip: wear biker shorts and a tank top under your outfits so you can easily change in public.

4: Father Demo Square

This is another great place to get street shots! The park/square itself isn’t very pretty, but the streets right next to it are! I love that Oli was able to get Our Lady of Pompeii Church in the shot.

5: Deli Flower Shop

There are delis on almost every street corner of NYC that sell flowers, so this location isn’t Greenwich Village specific. You can definitely replicate it almost anywhere in the city!

6: Mulberry & Grand

This shop is so cute inside and out!

7: Commerce/Barrow Street

This beautiful, quiet brick townhouse lined street is a stunning photo location!

8: 30 7th Avenue

Right next to 28 Sassy, you’ll find this beautiful green ivy wall! It stretches for part of the block, and the ivy with the brick is so pretty.

9: Eduardo Kobra’s Colors of Liberty Mural

This mural, located at 49 Thompson Street, is technically in Soho – but it’s an easy and pretty walk from Greenwich Village.

10: Crosby Street Soho

Also in Soho, Crosby Street is cobblestone and a great place for photos! When Oli and I visited on a weekend, it was (surprisingly) nearly empty.

Spending the day taking photos around Greenwich Village and Soho was such a great experience. Oli is so talented and knowledgable and I am super happy with how the photos came out! Oli’s Instagram is linked here, and his food Instagram is here. Definitely reach out to him for photos when you’re in the city! I’m already planning a winter photo series!
