Montana is a beautiful summer destination, especially if you enjoy being outdoors! You’ll find hiking trails, farmers’ markets, fishing spots and tons of other outdoor activities. The summers in Montana are also fantastic because they aren’t too hot or humid. That being said, the temperature in Montana in the summer varies greatly, especially depending on where you are in the state. In the Bozeman/Big Sky area, for example, in the mornings temperatures can be down in the mid 40s, but during the afternoons it’s common to see 85+ degrees. Because of this, planning what to wear in Montana and what to pack for a summer trip, can be a little challenging.
That’s where this guide comes in! Here you’ll find everything you’ll need for a summer trip to Montana. The best part is, it all will fit in a carry-on bag! Keep reading for what to wear in Montana, summer edition!

Outfit Inspiration: What to Wear in Montana
In the summer, I love wearing cute dresses with sneakers! Matching sets are also a great option, as are athletic clothes.
On cooler days, jeans and sweaters are always my favorite outfits.
Toiletries to Pack for Montana
I always bring my shampoo + conditioner bars (save the planet!), as well as my favorite skin care items.
Right now I’m loving The Ordinary, Pacifica and Acure, as they only contain safe, good for you ingredients! For makeup, I mostly use Tarte and Pacifica, for the same reasons. Finally, for self-tanner I recommend Caribbean Sol and Eco Tan!
