Hi everyone! We hope you’re all safe and well! As everyone knows, traveling at the moment is still limited, and may be for quite some time. Because of this, Maggie and I wanted to share with you some of our favorite travel themed subscription boxes, so that you can experience other countries and cultures from home! In this post, we are sharing boxes with beautiful artisan items from around the world, as well as international snack boxes! Maggie and I absolutely love receiving all of these boxes in the mail, and they really allow us to feel as though we’re getting a piece of the travel experiences that we have had to put on hold. Below you will find the best travel themed subscription boxes that we highly recommend subscribing to!
Finally – for complete transparency, Maggie and I received many of these boxes for free, or at a discounted price in exchange for our honest reviews and opinions. As always, our opinions and recommendations are entirely our own!
Artisan Boxes
Naseku Box
You guys, this box is incredible! The company, their mission and the products are absolutely amazing. Naseku Box is delivered four times per year, and contains handmade artisan items from communities around the world that have faced disasters. Each item from Naseku helps communities overcome hardships by providing job opportunities and stable incomes to those affected by disasters. All of the items are sustainably and ethically made, and each box comes with a card explaining where each item comes from, who makes them, and how the artisans are being supported.
Each Naseku Box, for $99, features 4-6 beautiful handmade items from around the world. There are a variety of items in each box, ranging from souvenirs to consumable items (like chocolate, coffee and honey!). You can keep them all for yourself, or they also make amazing gifts – there’s really something for everyone. The Spring 2020 Box celebrated International Women’s Day, and all of the products were handmade by female entrepreneurs. We’re especially excited about the gorgeous Lily Y Tula laptop sleeve, and the Montana Gold & Turquoise Cuff Bracelet that helps support exploited women.
If you are interested in purchasing individual products from Naseku, you can do so on their online shop. They have a variety of items to choose from, and each item has a description of the artisans who made it. It is clear that a ton of thought, time and care goes into choosing the items featured in the Naseku boxes and in their online shop.
When you purchase a Naseku Box you’ll be receiving amazing products while also supporting artisans and communities within disaster zones. Naseku Box also makes an amazing gift, and you can order a one time box for a friend (or yourself!) by clicking here! To subscribe to Naseku click here, check out their online shop here and follow them on Instagram here!
Fair Trade Friday
Fair Trade Friday is a faith-based company that works with female artisans worldwide to provide them with dignified employment opportunities and job security. Something we love about Fair Trade Friday is that 100% of the proceeds from items sold go to the artisans and their families!
Fair Trade Friday has many different subscription options, ranging from a artisan box of the month, to a bracelet of the month club, and an earring of the month club. The subscription box is $33 a month, and contains 3-4 fair trade products from around the world! Maggie and I decided to join the bracelet of the month club, and it was such a great experience. For $15 a month you will receive a beautiful bracelet, and also information about the products origins, the materials and the artisan who made your item. If you prefer earrings, for $13 you can subscribe to the earring of the month club! If you subscribe to any of their boxes for three months or longer, there is also a monthly discount on the price.
These boxes are definitely an affordable treat to subscribe to – they make a great little present to yourself each month! They also make amazing, affordable gifts so definitely keep them in mind for birthdays and holidays.
You can subscribe to the artisan box of the month here, the bracelet of the month here, and the earring of the month here.
CauseBox – now called AllTrue
I started a subscription with CauseBox (All True) last year, and it has been amazing! AllTrue is a quarterly subscription box that features ethically and sustainably made products, created by at-risk women from around the world. It is so important to me that companies use sustainable practices, are environmentally conscious, give back to communities, and also provide the artisans (or employees) with fair, livable wages – AllTrue does all of this.
Each box features $250 worth of full-size products, ranging from vegan-leather purses, to handmade scarfs, to beauty products and more. If you pay quarterly each box is $55, but if you pay yearly the price drops to $50 per box. If you’re a yearly member, you can also customize some of the items in your box, instead of receiving a surprise selection. In addition to their box, they also have an add-ons market where you can purchase additional items at a discounted rate.
The items in the box are sourced from all over the world, and each box contains a variety of products. Not all of the products are internationally made, as some are also sourced from the USA.
Finally, another thing that I love about AllTrue is that they include a catalog with descriptions and information about the items in the box. This allows subscribers to to learn about the artisans, their products and their sourcing!
You can subscribe to AllTrue here, or follow them on Instagram here. They also have an “Intro Box” that contains five full sized products for $25.
GlobeIn
I first discovered GlobeIn when I was searching for a birthday gift, and I’m so happy I did. GlobeIn offers ethically made, artisan goods that are delivered in monthly boxes. Unlike other boxes, GlobeIn allows you to pick your box’s theme, and to know all of the included products ahead of time. If you’d rather receive a surprise box, that’s also an option! GlobeIn is great because you can either subscribe and receive monthly boxes, or purchase a single, one-time box. This flexibility is ideal.
Many of the boxes include artisan items from different corners of the world. This means you could be receiving a knitted hat from Peru, painted mugs from Palestine, eye masks from India, and organic chocolate from Paraguay all in one box! I’m describing the “Snug Box” if you want to check it out.
GlobeIn also has an online market, where you can purchase a huge variety of artisan products. I seriously want everything in the shop.
You can subscribe to GlobeIn here.
Sweets and Treats
Culture Cakes Kit
This box is so much fun! Each month Culture Cakes Kit ships out snacks and a recipe (with hard to find ingredients) from a country around the world. Maggie and I received the Philippines Box, and inside were tons of snacks from the country as well as a recipe for ube cupcakes. We love that the ube extract and the coconut milk needed for the recipe were included in the box, so we didn’t have to track them down.
The recipe was super easy to follow, and the cupcakes were delicious. I had never tried ube cake before, but I was super impressed. The flavor is fantastic! This box is great for kids or adults, and would also make an amazing gift. If you’re looking to try snacks from around the world, and also make some international cupcake recipes, this box is for you!
You can purchase your Culture Cakes Kit box here for $30. Subscribe now to get the June box! Click here to check out their Instagram.
iKandi
iKandi is a Swedish candy subscription box – and it is amazing! Each month, for $25, subscribers receive 2 pounds of delicious, super high quality, assorted Swedish candy! We love that iKandi specializes in providing candy that contains no trans-fat, no corn syrup and is non GMO. The candy is delicious, and doesn’t contain as many questionable ingredients as traditional American candy. Swedish candy can be difficult to find in the USA, so this subscription box is perfect. Additionally, if there is specific candy in your subscription box that you especially enjoy, you can buy it in their online store. Maggie and I really enjoyed the candy, and it was hard not to eat it all in one sitting.
The packaging is adorable, and iKandi would definitely make an amazing gift!
You can subscribe to iKandi here!
Treats Box
Every month Treats Box sends subscribers boxes filled with snacks and candy for a featured country! Treats Box offers two sizes, a standard box for $14.95 that contains 5+ treats, and a premium box for $24.95 that has 10+ treats! Both offer free shipping, but in my opinion, the premium box is the way to go!
We love that Treats Box also comes with information about the featured country, as well as a postcard. This box would be a great learning tool for kids, as they get to learn fun facts about foreign countries, and also sample delicious treats! Finally, each box also comes with a pamphlet that explains each treat – and there is also a recipe card so you can make traditional dishes from the featured country at home!
You can subscribe to Treats Box here and check out their Instagram here.
Snack Crate
Snack Crate is an awesome snack box that delivers treats from a featured country monthly. You can either choose a “mystery” box, or pick from a variety of available boxes from different countries/regions. Maggie and I chose the Hawaii Box and we loved all of the snacks! Inside of the box there was a huge variety of both sweet and savory options, and we definitely enjoyed them. With your box you also receive a booklet of information about the snacks and the country/region of the month. Snack Crate has three sizes, mini, original and premium. We ordered the original size, which is normally $27, however, there is a currently a promotion for 50% off your first box! For the price of the box, you are definitely getting a lot of snacks.
Finally, we love that Snack Crate also gives you the option to add-on a featured drink! We think this is such a fun option, and we haven’t seen many other boxes that offer this add-on!
You can subscribe to Snack Crate here!
Universal Yums
Universal Yums is so fun and interactive! Each month subscribers receive treats from a country (or region) around the world. Also included in the box is a booklet of information about the country, a local recipe and a scoreboard for ranking the snacks. Maggie and I received the U.K. box, and since I studied for a year in London, it was great to get to try some more of the snacks that I used to eat daily! There is a great selection of snacks in this box, ranging from chips, to sweets and even a bag of little candies!
Universal Yums has three subscription options. We chose the smallest box (the Yum Box), which contains 6+ snacks for $14 a month. There is also a medium sized Yum Yum Box with 12+ snacks for $23 a month, and a Super Yum Box with 20+ snacks for $36 a month. Every subscription option also has free shipping. Personally, I think the Yum Box is the perfect size, even for sharing!
Maggie and I also love that the Universal Yums boxes come with booklets with tons of information about the featured country. This box is also a great learning tool for kids. The booklet contains trivia, fun facts and group activities with quizzes about local books and music. We definitely recommend checking out Universal Yums for a yummy and interactive experience.
You can subscribe to Universal Yums here and check out their Instagram here.
MunchPak
If you want to experience snacks from a bunch of different countries every month, then MunchPak is for you! Maggie and I ordered the MunchPak Mini, which contains 5+ snacks from around the world, for $13.95. The regular size contains 10+ snacks, and the family pack has 20+. All of their boxes also offer free shipping.
Maggie and I liked getting snacks from a variety of countries. We also enjoyed the included pamphlet that contained descriptions of the snacks! MunchPak is definitely a good travel-food starter box, however, it is a bit pricy at almost $14 for just five snacks.
You can purchase MunchPak here and follow them on Instagram here.
Atlas Coffee Club
Maggie and I both love coffee, and we’re so happy that we found Atlas Coffee Club. Each month, Atlas Coffee Club ships you coffee from a different country. You can choose your preferred roast (light, medium, dark), how much coffee you would like to receive (1/2 bag, full bag or double bag), and whether you prefer whole beans or ground coffee. A full bag is $14 a month and makes about 30 cups of coffee.
Our first bag of coffee was from Tanzania, and the coffee was delicious! The subscription box comes with information about your coffee of the month (tasting notes, brew methods, etc), as well as a cute postcard of the featured country. We really enjoyed the coffee, and we highly recommend this box. We can’t wait to see where our coffee comes from next month!
You can subscribe to Atlas Coffee Club here – and right now there’s a Father’s Day sale for $10 off your first bag!
World Ramens
If you’re a ramen lover then this box is for you! For $20 a month you will receive three ramens from across the world as well as a cooking instruction pamphlet. All of the ramens look amazing, and we love the different flavor options. These ramens are handpicked, very unique and can’t be found in typical grocery stores. If you’re a super ramen lover, there are also larger box options – four packages of noodles for $25 a month, or eight packages of noodles for $35 a month.
If you’re a college student, we highly recommend this box. It will be a great addition to your dorm or apartment.
You can purchase World Ramens here.
MexiCrate
If you’re a Mexican candy lover then this box is for you! Starting at only $7.99 a month (plus shipping) you can get a box filled with delicious Mexican sweets and snacks. All of the products are imported from Mexico, and the boxes ship world wide. Shipping is a little expensive, but definitely worth it for the amount of candy you receive.
MexiCrate offers an enormous selection of candy in every box – so there’s something for everyone! You can also purchase your favorites individually from their online shop.

I would like the Fair Trade Friday subscription box the best. I love that the subscriptions are so affordable and that proceeds go to the artisans!
I really appreciate the tips, especially the sustainable boxes. Giving back to artists, the earth, women at risk…beautiful concept that I had never even considered. Thank you for opening my eyes!
This is amazing! I honestly never knew any of these existed. I would love to give them a try.
Some absolutely great products here – I like Cause box a lot! Some of them have such a great ethos or motivations behind them. They’re so cute and would make an ideal gift for someone!
All of these boxes look fantastic! GlobeIn and CauseBox look fantastic. I love that they support artisans and people in need, what a great way to treat myself without feeling guilty! Thanks for the great guide!
These boxes look fantastic! The sustainable box is a great idea as a present! Thank you for all the recommendations!
I’ve (sadly) never heard of any of these but they’re such a great concept! I love the first few and how they help to support local communities/artists + have ethically/sustainably made products! (I’m a total foodie so the snacks sound awesome too! *-*)
I love the idea of travel boxes and I have always wondered if they were worth it. The boxes you have described here certainly look like it is, and I especially love that some of them promote women and the proceeds are used for a good cause.
Love that the items in the Naseku Box Help communities that are struggling. Fair Trade Friday sounds perfect, it’s reasonably priced and I love that 100% of proceeds go to the artist. Curious about CauseBox and going to check out their Instagram I had no idea there are so many subscription box options
Love this idea! I didn’t realize there was so much variety in boxes you could order. I think those international snack ones are perfect and seem like such a fun idea to receive snacks from different countries each month 🙂
I like the story and mission behind the Fairtrade box, The Globeln, The Causebox and Naseku box. What a positive thing to do for those communities. They will make an ideal birthday gift for those who love to travel.
The reusable produce bags are a brilliant idea. It’s all very well us not using carrier bags for our shopping, but all of those small plastic bags we use for vegetables and fruit still get used, and I just love the idea of these reusable produce bags.
These subscription boxes look so fun, and I’m glad to hear that many of them support artisans and at-risk communities. Since we can’t travel right now, it’s a great idea to try one of these boxes. I’d love to get some pretty things from around the world delivered to my door! 😀
This is a great idea and a perfect gift for those who love to travel. Since the world is not completely open for travel right now, this subscription box is a great way to get some things from around the world.
This is so cool! I had no idea so many existed. Sign me up for the all those candy ones! Great gift ideas for any traveller.
I would especially love the fair trade and ethical boxes 🙂 Thanks for sharing all of them, I’ve never heard about it before!
This is such a cool concept. Never heard about them before. Would love to buy some for myself and for gifting friends..
OMG icandy looks like my kind of subscription haha!! As an Aussie living abroad, I ordered Australian food boxes quite often; they were such a welcome reminder of home and so convenient!
